Chardon Middle School is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association and a member of the Lake-Geauga Middle School Conference that includes Willoughby Middle School, Eastlake Middle School, Mentor Memorial, Mentor Shore, Mentor Ridge, Madison Middle School, John R. Williams/LaMuth Middle School, University School, and Willowick Middle School.
Chardon Middle school offers the following athletics:
- 7th and 8th grade football
- 7th and 8th grade girls’ volleyball
- 7th and 8th grade girls’/boys’ cross country
- 7th and 8th grade boys’ basketball
- 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball
- 7th and 8th grade wrestling
- 7th and 8th grade cheerleading for football and basketball
- 7th and 8th grade girls’/boys’ track.
