The 2011 Chardon Varsity Baseball Team had a 20-6 record and are Co-Champs of the Premier Athletic Conference (PAC). This is the second baseball PAC championship in five years.
Also, Coach Greg Fronk was named the 2011 Baseball PAC Coach of the Year. This is Coach Fronk's second baseball Coach of the Year Award in five years.
The team photo was taken after the University School game on May 24th, which is when the team clinched a share of the PAC title and also won its 20th game, setting a school record for the most wins in a season.
The Chardon High School spring sports awards were held on June 1st. Of the 14 varsity baseball players, 13 received the PAC All-Conference Academic Award.
The following players were named to PAC teams:
1st Team PAC: John Martillotta, Jacob Kirsh, and Lucas Hawkins
2nd Team PAC: Archie Kimbrew III, Justin McLean, and Michael Maxwell
Honorable Mention: Jacob Happ and Tanner Dovsek
There were also team awards given out as follows:
Topper Sportsmanship Award: Matt Leskovec
Topper Golden Glove Award: Lucas Hawkins
Topper Slugger Award: John Martillotta
Topper Leadership Award: Justin McLean
Topper Coach's Award: Jacob Kirsh
