Chardon Unites - Community Picnic

Chardon High School’s Active Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) student group is hosting its Third Annual Community Picnic, which will be held at Chardon High School Stadium on July 21st, from 5 to 8:30 p.m.

Due to the recent tragedies in our community, their plans have changed slightly and the picnic will be different than it has been in the past. The club, ASAP, is still focusing on prevention efforts, but they realized this picnic needed to be about bringing our community together and honoring the friends we recently lost. While substance use was not an issue for these students, one of these classmates was a leader in ASAP and helped to make this picnic a yearly success. In recognition of his work, we have decided to honor each of our classmates at this event.

Proceeds from the event will be split four ways: one-fourth to the originally designated charity, Red Tulip Project, which cares for recovering women and relieves stress for their families and friends. The other three-fourths will be donated to a charity of choice by the families of Jackson Condon, Dominic Ricci, and Zach St. Jean. Our theme for the picnic will be Chardon Unites, we are going to celebrate the memory of our friends and honor their memory by taking care of everyone in our community.

Activities will include corn hole, dunk tank, water balloon toss and inflatables. Funds will be raised through food sales and activities. We are also planning to raffle off baskets and to hold a 50/50 raffle.

We are also seeking donations in the form of cash for sponsorships, gift cards, gift baskets or store items to be raffled off to help us meet our goal. Our tax exempt number is 34-6000583.

Student organizers are Marissa Perrico, Justin Stanko, Paige Steffen and Cooper Farrow.

If you have questions or wish to donate, please contact Marissa Perrico 440-537-4261, or Justin Stanko at 440-226-9771.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
