Junior Scouts Present Buddy Bench

Munson 5th Grade Girl Scout Troop 71166 recently unveiled their Bronze Award project - Munson School's first Buddy Bench!

Earning the Girl Scout Bronze Award is a team effort by a group of Junior Scouts .

Troop Leader Janine Rickets says "The project's objective must be to benefit the local community and/or benefit Girl Scouting as a whole in some way. Each scout was expected to contribute 20 hours to the project".

The Munson troop decided to build a Buddy Bench for Munson School. The troop unveiled the new bench at their Bronze Award Ceremony, held April 27th at the school.

The buddy bench is more than a place to sit. It's a simple idea: a place a refuge if you're feeling lonely, and an easy way to foster friendship on the playground.

Pictured with Munson Township Trustee Andy Buschman and Munson Principal Louise Henry are Scouts (L to R) Sarah Johnson, Morghan Kuzma, Keely Jackson, Briana Massi, Lydia Emerine, Mackenzie Topalian, Olivia Miscko, Rebecca Fullerman, Makenna Ricketts. Grace Romanoff is not pictured.
