Community Forum on School Funding
Community Forum on School FundingCitizens for Chardon Schools hosted a Community Forum on Ohio’s School Funding with our State Legislators on January 18, 2017. Over 100 parents, educators and communuyt members attended.

State funding for Chardon Schools has decreased over the last several years, due in large part to the phase out of the Tangible Personal Property Tax (TPP) reimbursement. The Chardon Schools is losing approx. $1 million dollars per year due to this phase-out, while the District's 3.9 mill operating levy was defeated by voters in November 2017.

Panelists included Chardon Superintendent Michael Hanlon, State Sen. John Eklund (R-Munson)  and State Rep. John Patterson (D-Ashtabula).

Citizens for Chardon Schools is a group of concerned parents, community members, and educators who are committed to seeing Chardon Schools continue to provide students a premier education. Want to get involved? Contact Citizens for Chardon Schools at [email protected]
