The above dashboard is one of two communication tools used by the district to notify families and staff of COVID-19 positive cases.  First and foremost, families and staff are notified by Blackboard Connect email (daily, or less/more often as needed) as new positive cases are reported to the district and recorded by the district in real-time.

The purpose of the dashboard is to provide an updated summary of positive cases and quarantine cases with breakouts by 1) students and staff; 2) school buildings; and 3) active and year-to-date cases.

Please note that a positive case in your student's school building does not necessarily mean that your child has been exposed to the virus. Each case of COVID-19 is investigated by a public health official from the Geauga County Health Department. If your student's school and/or the Geauga County Health Department directly contacts you, please cooperate fully to ensure the safety and health of our entire community. If you are not directed to quarantine, your student is clear to attend school.

REPORTING an ABSENCE

Parents/Guardians:  To report your student's absence due to COVID or other illness/reason, please call 440.285.4052 and follow the instructions provided by the automated system.

If your student has a positive COVID test result:
1. Please report the absence on the attendance phone line as described above.
2.  Please also email your school's nurse or the head district nurse.  You will be asked your student's last day in the school setting, when symptoms began, and what day your student tested positive. You will then be provided with an estimated return to school date.
3. The health department will contact you and also review the same details and discuss quarantine dates.

Please Stay Subscribed

Chardon Schools recommends that families with an enrolled student(s) stay subscribed to the district's Blackboard Connect emails. Unsubscribing interrupts the flow of important district and school communications for you and your student(s).

If you are listed as emergency contact #1 or #2 (in Infinite Campus) for a student enrolled in one of our schools, you are automatically subscribed to our Blackboard Connect emails.

In the event that you meet this criteria but have inadvertently or intentionally unsubscribed from Blackboard Connect and would like to opt back in, please contact our Communications Director at kelly.misch@chardonschools.org to restore the delivery of Blackboard Connect emails to you.
