K-12 Students Gain Leadership Experience at BOE Meetings

August 24, 2023 — With the launch of the new school year, the Chardon Board of Education is pleased to resume its yearly tradition of hosting a student(s) Pledge of Allegiance leader at regular monthly Board meetings. The BOE welcomed month of August Pledge contest winners Chardon Middle School sixth-grade student Carter Hruska and Park Elementary third-grade student Landon Hruska to the Aug. 21 regular board meeting.

Both students Toppered Up as volunteer Pledge leaders that evening, while also having the opportunity to meet Superintendent Mike Hanlon and Board Vice President Guy Wilson and receiving a Portrait of a Hilltopper certificate at the conclusion of the Pledge.

OPPORTUNITY
All Chardon Schools K-12 families are welcome to enter their enrolled student(s) into the contest for a chance at the monthly drawings. The 2023 contest schedule is available through the ENTRY FORM shared in school newsletters (enter today!).

The entry form will be updated to include calendar year 2024 dates once that schedule of meetings is established in January at the annual organizational meeting.
