November 16, 2022 — The District was pleased to have district administrators, faculty members and students selected to participate as presenters at the Ohio School Boards Association’s 2022 Capital Conference and Trade Show held Nov. 13-15 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This event is Ohio’s premier professional development conference with over 7,000 BOE and district administrators participating in this annual opportunity.

Chardon High School CREW teachers Tracey Britt and Kim Butala, together with CREW students (seniors Frankie Janek, Bryson Juker and Sophie Thompson; and junior Ashlei Butt), presented the school's innovative career-based program on Nov. 14 to conference attendees and also hosted an impressive CREW booth at the conference’s Student Achievement Fair.

District administrators, including Superintendent Michael Hanlon, Treasurer/CFO Deb Armbruster, and Assistant Superintendent Ed Klein, presented on Nov. 14 on the fiscal and programmatic impact of the district’s reconfiguration in 2018, highlighting over $7.3 million in savings for Chardon Schools since 2018.

The reconfiguration analysis presentation can be accessed at: OSBA 2022 District Reconfiguration Analysis.pdf

Dr. Hanlon also, together with other members of a statewide task force, presented at the conference on Ohio’s new school funding model — The Fair School Funding Plan.
