FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chardon Local Schools Names Yeomans as a Chardon High School Assistant Principal

June 20, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — Chardon Schools extends a warm Hilltopper welcome to Edward Yeomans who will join the Chardon High School administrative team as one of two new assistant principals, effective Aug. 1. The District conducted the search and interview process throughout the spring, with the board of education approving the appointment of Mr. Yeomans during the June 17, 2024 regular board meeting.

Superintendent Mike Hanlon said, “Edward brings a strong instructional background as a high school teacher, as well as three years of prior administrative experience to our district.  We are pleased to welcome him to Chardon High School.”

Included in the breadth of experience that Mr. Yeomans brings to Chardon are his 23 years as an educator, the last three of which were as principal of an elementary school in Painesville City Schools. The previous 20 years were as a high school level English Language Arts and Latin language teacher.

Mr. Yeomans stated, “I hope to bring strong academics and a focus on student engagement to Chardon’s well-established and formidable profile…There is a saying in Latin, ‘docendo discimus’, which means, ‘We learn by teaching’. I have worked with some amazing young people over the years. I have learned from them what it takes to excel, create, respect, believe, and love — what it takes to be the very best human one can be. The more I teach, the more I learn.”

Mr. Yeomans will serve as part of the CHS administrative team that includes incoming principal Adam Tomco, assistant principal Doug Higham, and incoming assistant principal Christina Sherwood

Outside of school, Mr. Yeomans enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin and their two children.
