Chardon Local Schools Names Caroff as Chardon Middle School Principal
June 20, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — Chardon Schools extends a warm Hilltopper welcome to Craig Caroff who will join the Chardon Middle School administrative team as the school’s principal, effective Aug. 1. The District conducted the search and interview process throughout the spring, with the board of education approving the appointment of Mr. Caroff during the June 17, 2024 regular board meeting.
Superintendent Mike Hanlon said, “We are pleased to have Craig join the Hilltopper team. His experience and preparation will contribute to an effective transition into the position at Chardon Middle School. During the interview process, Craig shared great interest in advancing the mission of Chardon Schools and enthusiasm for working with Hilltopper students and staff.”
Included in the breadth of experience Mr. Caroff brings to Chardon are his 16 years of experience as a school administrator for grade levels PreK-6, most recently - eight years with Mayfield City Schools. He expressed that he is excited to work with an additional grade level, 7th grade, as CMS principal.
In a June 18 email to CMS staff, Mr. Caroff stated, “Since the interview process began at Chardon, I could tell that the people - meaning each of you - are top notch and in it for kids. I know I'm joining a great district and a phenomenal school.”
Mr. Caroff will serve as part of the CMS administrative team that includes assistant principal Tracy Paroubek. Adam Tomco, CMS principal since 2022, was appointed Chardon High School principal, effective Aug. 1, at the May 20, 2024 regular board meeting.
Outside of school, Mr. Caroff enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen, their three-year-old son Leo, and their beagle, Enzo. His interests also include hockey, cycling and reading.
