Survey for Interest in Remote Learning in 2021-2022
The following letter was sent to families via Blackboard Connect email on April 6, 2021 with a reminder emailed on April 14, 2021:

Dear Parents/Guardians of Students Entering Grades K - 12 in Fall 2021:

The following information and survey are for families who have interest in the possibility of remote learning for the 2021-2022 school year.

The Chardon Local Schools are planning for the 2021-2022 school year, and considering offering some classes via remote/blended learning. It is important to note, currently there is NOT legislative approval for the District to operate 100% remote learning for the upcoming school year. However, the District is considering virtual programming that may involve some in-person attendance requirements.

Parents/guardians who are interested in considering this option for any of their school-aged children are encouraged to complete the following
SURVEY to assist the District in planning for the 2021-2022 school year. This survey is to solicit interest for planning purposes.

We kindly ask for responses to this interest survey to be submitted no later than 5:00PM on Friday, April 16, 2021.

If the District proceeds with planning and operating blended learning courses for 2021-2022, a separate communication - including commitment from parents/guardians - will follow.

Not all classes and programs may be available remotely. Remote/blended learning classes will be determined by enrollment and program availability. Again, there is currently not legislative approval for the District to operate 100% remote learning for next year. This survey is for planning considerations.

If you have multiple children for whom you are interested in the possibility of blended learning for 2021-2022, please submit a separate interest survey for each additional child.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ed Klein, Ph.D.
Assistant Superintendent
