Chardon Local Schools Names Sherwood as a Chardon High School Assistant Principal
June 20, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — Chardon Schools extends a warm Hilltopper welcome to Christina Sherwood who will join the Chardon High School School administrative team as one of two new assistant principals, effective Aug. 1. The District conducted the search and interview process throughout the spring, with the board of education approving the appointment of Mrs. Sherwood during the June 17, 2024 regular board meeting.
Superintendent Mike Hanlon said, “Christina brings a strong instructional background as a high school English language Arts teacher and has extensive knowledge in the area in curriculum and instruction as it relates to improving student achievement. We are pleased to welcome her to Chardon High School.”
Included in the breadth of professional experience Mrs. Sherwood brings to Chardon are 12 years in education, including four years with West Geauga Local Schools and teaching for the past eight years at Riverside High School. Her credentials include a Master’s in Higher Education Administration, as well as College Credit Plus teaching certification. Most recently, Mrs. Sherwood completed the principal licensure program at Youngstown State University.
Mrs. Sherwood will serve as part of the CHS administrative team that includes incoming principal Adam Tomco, assistant principal Doug Higham, and incoming assistant principal Edward Yeomans.
She stated, “I am super excited to be a part of the Hilltopper family.”
Outside of school, Mrs. Sherwood enjoys spending time with her husband whom she has been married to for 26 years and four daughters ages 24, 23, 21 and 18. In her free time when she’s not at home, you may find her at the ocean, one of her favorite destinations.
