June 29, 2023 — In Beyond the Hilltop News...Congratulations to Chardon High School Hilltoppers Mallorie Flick, Caleb Schuetzman and Geneva Turkish who are among the 18 students to graduate on June 23 from Leadership Geauga's Youth Institute Program 2023!

This two-week summer program provides area rising high school juniors and seniors an experience to grow as individual leaders in Geauga County. Class members make unique connections in Geauga County, meet people driving community growth, enhance their leadership skills, and develop close bonds with other young leaders.
Prior to the launch of this year's program, Leadership Geauga spotlighted each of the 18 participants on social media. The welcome messages for Hilltoppers were as follows:
Mallorie, a rising senior at Chardon High School, is poised to embark on an exciting journey this fall. Alongside her academic pursuits, she serves as a coach at the Eastside Cleveland Volleyball Club, where she shares her passion for the sport with others. Mallorie's decision to join the Youth Institute stems from her deep desire to explore the essence of leadership, identify her strengths and weaknesses, and discover the career path that resonates with her. When she's not immersing herself in her studies or coaching, Mallorie finds solace and inspiration in the realms of arts, volleyball, and music. She enjoys going to her favorite restaurant, Noce.
Caleb, who will be a Chardon High School senior this fall, will be completing landscaping for large properties this summer. He applied to our program to expand his knowledge of the business world and help him further decide on his career path. He hopes to make meaningful connections with local leaders to help mentor him as he decides on his major and job opportunities. He enjoys playing football (as the defensive tackle for Chardon High School) and golfing. Caleb enjoys the Geauga Park District and Punderson’s beautiful golf course.
Geneva, a Chardon High School rising junior, joined our program because she thought it would be a good way for her to meet different people in Geauga County. She hopes to learn techniques to be a better leader, too. Geneva enjoys taking walks at the Geauga Park District’s many parks.
