February 28, 2023 — CONGRATULATIONS Hilltoppers Nayeli Orozco, Gabriella Simiele and Tara Lesiak on medaling at the SkillsUSA Ohio Northeast Regionals 2023 event, outstanding achievements that advance the three Auburn Career Center students to the SkillsUSA STATE tournament April 25-26 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
The Northeast Regionals event was held Feb. 25 at Maplewood Career Center in Ravenna where Chardon High School seniors Nayeli and Gabriella earned GOLD and Team GOLD, respectively, in their respective Medical Math and Health Knowledge Bowl regional events. The two Class of 2023 students are in their second year of ACC's Allied Health Technology program.
Tara, a CHS junior, brought home BRONZE in the Job Skill Demo A regional event. She is a first-year ACC Cosmetology student who was recently inducted into ACC's chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.
ACC is a member school of SkillsUSA Ohio whose mission is to empower students in industrial education and trade programs to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens.
The SkillsUSA Ohio State Championship brings over 5,000 competitors, business and industry partners, instructors, and vendors together in over 100 contests in all 16 Career Pathways to showcase Career and Technical Education in Ohio. Students compete for the title of best in Ohio in their respective career fields.
