September 14, 2023 — Chardon Schools is fortunate to have such committed, hard-working PTOs!
The Chardon Middle School PTO hosted its annual, outdoor Back-to-School Bash during the school day on Sept. 8 for all of the school's grade levels (4-7). The event was originally scheduled for Aug. 25 but had to be postponed due to a district-wide schools closure in response to the widespread power outages and road closures aftermath of the previous night's storm.
By the looks of Hilltopper smiles on Sept. 8, it was all worth the wait!
The B2S Bash provided students with the opportunity to hang out and enjoy an inflatable sports center, bounce house, basketball challenge, and obstacle course.
Another highlight was a dunk tank with rotating staff members making a splash! Students enjoyed popcorn and popsicles in between activities.
Excellence in Leadership & Collaboration
The success of this event would not have been possible without the volunteers who helped chair it and run activities. This year's PTO is led by president Jodi Clute, co-VPs of activities Tiana Vancura and Dawn Ulrich, VP of hospitality Colleen Cresho, secretary Andrea Clark, and treasurer Megan Ghobrial.
Cool Facts
DID YOU KNOW the CMS PTO clocked 2,400+ hours of volunteer service last school year and raised $21,700 via its primary fundraisers - Fall Mum Sale and Parent’s Night Out? Wow!
Those funds were put to excellent use last school year, including $15,000 for a STEM lab update at the school; kick-off of a teacher's lounge renovation project; and implementation of stand-up desks in all core classrooms.
