ACADEC Lands 2nd Place at State Tournament

March 13, 2024 (CHARDON, OH) — The Chardon High School Academic Decathlon team put up a strong showing at the 2024 ACADEC State Competition March 8-9 on the campus of John Carroll University. Hilltoppers picked up 13 medals along the way to an impressive second-place finish.

Coach Al Herner stated, “We fell only to the eventual State Champion and the team that will represent Ohio at Nationals. I am extremely proud of our team's poise and effort in the face of some very stiff competition. Good luck to Oakwood (Dayton) as they compete in Pittsburgh in April.”

Up next, Chardon ACADEC, together with Coach Herner, will be recognized at the March 18 regular Chardon Board of Education meeting for their STATE Qualification — and for their 2nd place STATE finish.

Congratulations on an outstanding year and States achievement!
