Dear Parents/Guardians:
With the commencement of my thirty-ninth year as teacher and principal in the Chardon School System, I feel proud of the accomplishment of Park students. I continue to believe that it truly takes EVERYONE working together to provide a balanced education, a safe school environment, and high academic achievements. Being a graduate and alumni of the Chardon, K-12 program, I have experienced first-hand how community support, family partnerships, and authentic classroom instruction all work together to create productive lifelong learners.
In 1998, Park School was awarded the honor of Hall of Fame School by OAESA in Columbus. We continue to maintain high academic achievements, strong work ethics, and encourage the growth of a balanced child – socially, emotionally and academically. We have earned the rating of “Excellence” on the State Report Card for the past eleven consecutive years. Make no mistake, this does not happen by coincidence. The Park staff diligently works at targeting benchmarks, differentiating learning, providing for special needs while also addressing attendance issues, engaging student attention, and trying to overcome individual learning obstacles.
Teamwork and dedication are key components that make this happen. I feel we have a good “recipe” for learning and encourage you to help and support our endeavors throughout the learning process. Park School definitely needs positive parental support and appreciates all the help that is given, not only to educate students academically, but to share the world of possibilities and ignite the dreams for the leaders of tomorrow.
The past years have not just been a job for me…lives have been changed, emotions have been touched, and dreams have been created. I am proud of Park School. I am proud of my staff and look forward to another year of working in my hometown — Chardon.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Garrett
