Munson Students Participate in Nature Scopes Program
Munson fifth graders have been seeing the beauty of nature, up close and personal, thanks to Geauga Park District’s Nature Scopes program.   
Cleveland Invention Convention Winners
Congratulations to Mrs. DeShetler’s fourth grade students for their outstanding inventions which were entered into the Cleveland Invention Convention at Strongsville High School on May 11th.  
heART of Geauga Arts Jam
On June 8th artists from across Northeast Ohio will gather in Chardon for the heART of Geauga Arts Jam to celebrate creativity and artistic expression in its many forms and you're invited to join the fun!  
Crescendo Club's Tag Day is May 18th
Help keep the Chardon Schools music program strong! Support us on Tag Day May 18th when our music students will be going door to door asking for donations to help fund our music programs,  
Summer Safety Village
Chardon Schools is proud to sponsor the Chardon Safety Village program geared for children entering kindergarten in the Fall of 2013. The program runs for two weeks, from July 29-August 9th. 
School Board Announces New Superintendent
The School Board has selected Dr. Michael Hanlon to serve as the district's new superintendent beginning August 1, 2013.  Hanlon, who will be leaving his position as Painesville City Schools superintendent in July, will replace Joseph Bergant. 
Munson First Graders Enjoy "Sweet" Field Trip
Munson first graders recently enjoyed a trip to the Geauga Park District's sugar grove to learn about Ohio's important maple syrup industry. The field trip was paid for by a grant from the Geauga Park District Foundation.
 
2013-14 School Calendar
The calendar for the 2013-14 school year has been approved by the Chardon Board of Education. First day of school for students is Monday August 26th. 
ADED Kindergarten Option
As proponents for educational options and parent choice, we are again offering tuition based all-day, every-day (ADED) kindergarten classes at Park Elementary School.

CLSD 2012-13 Reduction Plan
The Chardon School Board has approved a reduction plan to be implemented now that the  November 6, 2012 levy did not pass.  
Changes to Physical Education in Ohio
Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, a physical education evaluation will be included as an indicator on the Local Report Card. 
District Using New Data Management System
This year Chardon Local Schools is using a new data management system called Infinite Campus.

Application Deadline for Free or Reduced Priced Meals
Just a reminder that eligibility for free or reduced-price meals will expire automatically on October 5th if we do not receive a new application by that date.  
Stay Safe - Speak Up!
Telling is not tattling when safety is at stake! Stay Safe-Speak Up is an online, anonymous reporting system and helpline that encourages students to communicate with adults.
